SUNY Oswego's global environmental competition for high school students interested in science, art, creative writing, music, design and business is underway this week. It attracted more than 700 finalists and their mentors representing 401 projects from 65 countries and 33 states this year. It wraps up Thursday (June 18) with a free public awards ceremony, featuring competitors in native costume waving their nations' flags, at 1:15 p.m. at SUNY Oswego's Marano Campus Center. GENIUS Olympiad sponsors, besides the college, include Terra Science and Education Foundation, Pathfinder Bank and Exelon Generation.
