Law-enforcement professionals from across Upstate New York will join local public officials and representatives from state agencies to honor the lives of fallen officers at the 2nd annual “Fishing 4 The Fallen” event on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Mexico Point State Park.
The event will provide a day of fun, fishing and memories for families of fallen police officers from the Syracuse Police Department, the Broome County and Tioga County Sheriff’s offices and the New York State Police. After a ceremony honoring the fallen officers, 20 children and 18 chaperones will depart for a day of fishing on Lake Ontario followed by a special dinner at Fairways and Dreams in Pulaski.
“Fishing 4 The Fallen” is sponsored by Cops 4 a Cause, a New York State-based non-profit charity comprised of a group of active and retired law enforcement members and supported by community members. The organization was founded in 2018 as an avenue to raise funds to give back to the communities where law enforcement offices live and work.
