  youtuber?<br />In this one of a kind week, campers will explore the best o
 f what youtube has to offer through creativity and working together. Camper
 s will move from in front of the screen to behind the screen as they use th
 eir imaginations to design, shoot, and produce short clips such as DIY, sto
 p frame videos with legos or toys, and camp music videos.</p><p>To those co
 ncerned with a camp promoting screen time and youtube:<br />I totally under
 stand your concern. I hope this will help. As an educator and parent, I hav
 e found that youtube is a part of most of my students’ daily lives and has 
 become the fastest growing “profession” I hear students wanting to pursue. 
 Like all adults, I try and limit screen time and push them towards interact
 ing with friends in person and building with their own hands. Just as our v
 ideo gamers week has taken kids interest and shown them how to play live ve
 rsions of their games outside and problem solve with their peers, a youtube
  week will not involve watching youtube at all. Camp is the perfect place f
 or children to explore their passions and interests in new, engaging ways. 
 Younger campers will design toy “sets” using train tracks, barbie supplies,
  legos, or even outside fairy houses. Then we will let them act out a movie
  with the toys that they can show their parents. My son, has already starte
 d planning a ninja warrior video he wants to do. Older campers will talk ab
 out target audiences, marketing, and how to use technology safely and respo
 nsibly. Then they will work in groups to create things they are excited abo
 ut such as a “mock camp reality show,” a stop frame video, a camp music vid
 eo, or invent their own game and show it off in a little video. The joy of 
 youtube is that it provides the excuse for kids to explore ANY interest the
 y have and then “share it in the form of a video.” All videoing will be con
 trolled by counselors and parents will have a choice to opt out of their ch
 ild being posted online. Campers will not be huddled behind screens watchin
 g videos, they will be engaged and excited in the creative progress of maki
 ng videos. This requires working together, building, playing outside, and t
 he coolest part will be that what they create will be captured as a memory
