Nurses from St. Luke Health Services , Michaud Residential Health Services and Bishop’s Commons are pleased to a nnounce a new date for their popular bone density screening.
The scre ening will take place at the First United Methodist Church, 4372 Church Str eet in the Village of Mexico, on Monday, June 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p .m.
The bone density screening is open to the public and free of char ge. No appointment is necessary. The screening is easy to do and takes only a few minutes to complete. Nurses will be available to discuss the screeni ng results and to answer health-related questions.
“Our bone density screening program is a great chance for you to receive valuable health info rmation free of charge,” said Michaud Nurse Dorothy Reitz, RN.
As a m ember of the Oswego County Falls Prevention Coalition, information about fa lls prevention strategies will also be available and nurses will answer any questions about ways to reduce the risk of falls in your home.
“Heal thy bone mass is important throughout our lives but more so as we grow olde r,” Reitz added. “As we age our bones can become more fragile leading to an increased risk of fracture as a result of falls. The information provided by the screening we offer may help you to improve your health and quality o f life; especially for those who may be experiencing the onset of osteoporo sis.”
