 slots are gone!\n \n \nBios of these wonderful presenters:\nDr. Wendy M. Gu
 nther is a forensic pathologist and assistant chief medical examiner in the
  Tidewater District of the Commonwealth of Virginia, where she has been emp
 loyed since March, 2002. She trained for two years in general surgery in th
 e 1980s before switching to anatomic and clinical pathology. During her pat
 hology residency she had lengthy exposure to pediatric pathology that allow
 ed her to sit for the board examination without formal fellowship training.
  Dr Gunther then trained as a fellow in forensic pathology at the Office of
  the Chief Medical Examiner in Manhattan, NYC. She is now board certified i
 n anatomic, clinical, forensic, and pediatric pathology. At her first job i
 n Memphis, TN, she was named the director of the hospital autopsy service a
 s well as serving as an assistant forensic pathologist from 1995 to 2000. S
 he worked as a forensic pathologist in Washington, DC from 2000 to 2002, an
 d has now spent more than fifteen years as an assistant chief medical exami
 ner in Virginia. She is the author of numerous abstracts, and has contribut
 ed to two books on pediatric pathology. Dr Gunther frequently lectures to a
 udiences on forensic pathology, has won awards for teaching, and enjoys tea
 ching students as well as investigative colleagues in law enforcement, the 
 law, and medicine. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the
  American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the British Association in Forensic
  Medicine, and the National Association of Medical Examiners. She is marrie
 d to an aikido instructor, and has lived in Norfolk, VA, for sixteen years.
  She has performed close to 5,000 autopsies, many of them on infants. She h
 as lost count of how many times she has testified as an expert witness in f
 orensic pathology.\n \nDr. Suzanne Starling is the Medical Director and Ass
 ociate Center Director of the Chadwick Center for Children and Families at 
 Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at 
 the University of California San Diego. She was the Medical Director of the
  Child Abuse Program at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norf
 olk VA before relocating to San Diego in 2017. Dr. Starling is a board cert
 ified Child Abuse Pediatrician and has spent her career collaborating with 
 investigators and attorneys to improve the investigation and prosecution of
  child abuse, regularly providing expert medical testimony in child abuse c
 ases. Dr. Starling also lectures nationally and internationally for medical
 , investigative, and legal audiences. Dr. Starling has served as a leader i
 n Child Abuse Pediatrics for many years. She helped shape the direction of 
 the field as a past chair of the American Board of Pediatrics’ subboard on 
 Child Abuse Pediatrics. Dr. Starling has authored more than 40 journal arti
 cles and book chapters in the field, as well as edited the well-respected t
 extbook Medical Response to Child Sexual Abuse. She is a charter member of 
 the Helfer Society, an honorary society for physician specialists in child
