CO) Nutrition Services, has announced that OCO is participating in this yea
r's Summer Food Service Program. Funded through the New York State Educatio
n Department, the Summer Food Service Program provides free meals to childr
en throughout the summer months.
"Summer is an exciting time for chil dren to enjoy playtime with friends, a week at camp, a family vacation, or time at the pool. But for many children who receive free and reduced-price meals at school, summer can mean hunger. Just as learning does not end when school lets out, neither does a child's need for good nutrition. Once agai n we have partnered with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to provide free meals to children while school is out for the summer. There are no income requirements. All school aged children ages 18 and under are invited to enj oy a free meal" said Halstead.
Meals will be available at the followi ng sites and times. All locations will be closed in observance of the Fourt h of July holiday on Monday, July 4th. Orders for meals are placed at the s ite the day before you attend.
