DESCRIPTION:Vernon Goettel, a life long member of the First Universalist Society of Cen
 tral Square, was just a young boy when he rang the bell of that church on t
 he very first Armistice Day. The bell rang out on the 11th hour of the 11th
  day of the 11th month, marking a formal end to World War 1. The First Univ
 ersalist bell will ring again at this same time in a special service on Nov
 ember 11th, the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day. All are welcome to atte
 nd to remember the losses of the war and the bravery of those who fought, a
 nd to share in the hope for all wars to end and peace to prevail. The servi
 ce will begin at 10:30 a.m. with fellowship to follow. The First Universali
 st church is located at 3243 Fulton Ave (Rt. 49) in Central Square across f
 rom the fire department and is the only Unitarian-Universalist church in Os
 wego County, welcoming all in the spirit of justice, peace and love.\n This
