DESCRIPTION:Now in its third year, the My Hometown Project continues to provide public 
 space for the display of artwork by students in the City of Oswego’s Public
  School District. The Art Department and Tyler Art Gallery will host the “3
 rd Annual My Hometown Visual Art Exhibition.” Opening May 31st with an arti
 st reception from 4:30-6:30 pm, this year’s exhibition features over 450 wo
 rks of art by K-12 students studying in the Oswego School District. Whether
  through drawing, painting, sculpting, or mixed media; whatever the approac
 h, the project seeks to display this work and use it to showcase the City o
 f Oswego as a vibrant and creative community. The work on display was selec
 ted by the project director, Cynthia Clabough of the SUNY Oswego Art Depart
 ment, through a series of visits to each of the seven schools in the distri
 ct throughout the 2018-2019 academic year. All selections are photographed 
 and reproduced as high-quality prints and readied for exhibition by student
 s in the Graphic Design program at SUNY Oswego. As part of the overall proj
 ect, works in the exhibition go through a jurying process that selects 40-5
 0 pieces for display on banners around the City of Oswego from April throug
 h November of 2020. This year’s jurors include Oswego High School alumna, T
 raci Terpening (Class of 1984), local artist Mary Pierce, and SUNY Oswego p
 rofessor Ritu Radhakrishnan. Up through June 15th, gallery hours are Wednes
 day and Thursday from 2-5 pm, &amp; Saturdays from 12noon to 4 pm. This exh
 ibition is free and open to the public. For additional information about th
