DESCRIPTION:\nHiram Lodge #136 invites all interested Brothers and Masons to attend our
  first Lodge Lecture. The lectures are meant to provide education and discu
 ssion for all Masons on a different monthly topic relating to Freemasonry. 
 These are FREE to attend, and light refreshments will be provided.\nLeaders
 hip Development in Freemasonry\nThe modern definition of Freemasonry “is an
  organized society of men, symbolically applying the principles of Operativ
 e Masonry and architecture to the science and art of character building.” W
 e are trying to use the old methods to make good men better. We try to plac
 e an emphasis on the individual man by strengthening his character; improvi
 ng his moral and spiritual outlook; and broadening his mental horizons. Muc
 h of this philosophy is very similar to modern theories and practices for l
 eadership skill development of an individual. Although Freemasons have been
  educating men for hundreds of years, modern leadership development has onl
 y existed for a few decades. The question remains if hundreds of years of t
 eachings align with contemporary and modern business and societal practices
 . We will discuss Masonic leadership teachings in comparison to modern lead
 ership skill training to explore both concepts and help to develop each per
 son as a better Brother and Mason.\nThe speaker and facilitator will be Joe
  Stabb, Ph.D. TE, APR. Stabb is an assistant professor at SUNY Oswego, wher
 e he teaches courses in public relations, social media, and leadership deve
 lopment. He has experience in marketing communications, public relations, b
 usiness development, organizational development, and leadership development
 . Stabb is a graduate from Utica College of Syracuse University with a Bach
 elor’s degree in Public Relations, a Master’s of Science degree from Keuka 
 College in Management, and has a Doctoral degree in Leadership and Policy f
 rom Niagara University. He also holds an advanced certificate in internatio
 nal trade and commerce (TE) from the World Trade Center Association and his
  accreditation in public relations (APR) from the Universal Accreditation B
 oard (UAB) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Stabb is als
 o an active member of Tigris Shriners (Syracuse) and Ancient Accepted Scott
