DESCRIPTION:\nExplore the diverse habitats of the Sterling Nature Center in search of r
 esident and migratory birds as we walk the trails and visit birding hot spo
 ts. We will search Lake Ontario and its shoreline for migrating and over wi
 ntering waterfowl, eagles, and other migrating raptors. The Beaver Wetland 
 will provide opportunities to observe hooded mergansers, wood ducks and oth
 er waterfowl along with courting great blue herons and possibly nesting gre
 at horned owls. We will also seek out resident and early migrant bird life 
 like pileated woodpeckers, eastern blue birds, belted kingfishers and Ameri
 can kestrels as we travel through woodlands and fields.\nFunds raised durin
 g the Finger Lakes Birding Festival will go to the Friends of Sterling Natu
