DESCRIPTION: \nThis family friendly event is sponsored by the Brewerton Community Faceb
ook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/290069246504203). We will be lau
nching from Light House Park on County Route 37 in the Town of Hastings. We
will start the paddle at 7:30 sharp. The event is for non-motorized vessel
s ONLY! Kayak, paddle board, canoe Etc.\nWe will have several safety/escort
boats on the water from Caughdenoy and Brewerton Fire Departments as well
as a police presence to assist our paddle. We will paddle towards the water
front and turn around near 916, paddle back towards Caughdenoy to around th
e Wild Horse and paddle back to light house park. There could be kayak/padd
le board rentals available at the park if you don’t have a kayak. (This is
in the works)\nWe also may possibly have some food trucks there as well.\nC
ould there be a band/music? It’s possible if we get some sponsor money. All
this is possible, not guaranteed.\nHere are the rules of the event:\n- no
motors, paddles only\n- decorate your float with some kind of glow sticks,
glow lanterns, head lamps etc. All floats must have some type of lighting.\
n-Per the Sheriffs office they are requesting the following for safety:\n-
The required equipment is:\nPFD for everyone, under 12 has to be wearing it
, recommend everyone be wearing it of course.\nA sound signaling device = a
whistle\nA white light = a flashlight, it doesn't need to be on but to sig
nal oncoming boats for visibility purposes.\n- We will stay together as a g
roup (generally if people want to stop places they are welcome.)\n- Have fu
n, laugh, say hello to a neighbor, introduce yourself to someone you don’t
know \n- All participants participate at your own risk. Be safe!\nA HUGE th
