Free June 3rd Event at Elim Grace
The rewards of a union Building and Trades career have never been so lucrative as they are right now. A public event Tuesday June 3rd from 5 PM to 8 PM at Elim Grace Church (340 West First Street, Oswego) will give individuals the opportunity to learn just how rewarding that work can be.
"Many people wonder if joining a local labor union is for them. They wonder if their legal or educational background - or their doing odd jobs for others - may keep them from a career in union work. Here they will get answers," stated Vocational Counselor George Valentine.
Demand for union labor will soar in the coming years as the mammoth MICRON project begins construction and maintenance phases. The project is slated to create 50,000 jobs in a facility covering 2.4 million square feet. The MICRON project is only one of the forces offering great opportunity and demand for skilled workers.
The County BUILD program provides a great introduction for earning and learning in all facets of the Building Trades. Carpenters, Plumbers, Laborers are only a few of the areas people can learn as they build a career for themselves. A representative from the BUILD program will be there to answer questions to this lucrative program.
People interested in gaining information for themselves or others are invited to enjoy this special event on Tuesday June 3rd. "Bring your questions and your dreams" Valentine stated.
