Bella Hair is thrilled to announce their recent expansion in downtown Oswego. Located in Canal Commons, same location but the newly expanded space features a larger gift shop, more room to serve clients, and the warm, welcoming riverside atmosphere that they’ve worked so hard to create.

Letter to the Editor: Cheer or Fear, The BBB is Upon Us

Write a comment

July 3rd and July 4th, 2025, marked a pivotal time in the history of our American Democracy.

The passage and signing of the so-called BBB will  now affect every American. While some cheered its passage, as Congresswoman Claudia Tenney did, many others found themselves stunned by its reality.

Regardless of whether you cheered or feared, the ramifications of this legislation will be felt by every American. Here at home, our County Legislature has been steadfast in saying nothing and more importantly doing nothing in addressing these realities. It makes one wonder who they are really representing, doesn’t it.

Time will reveal the truths regarding all the provisions in the bill and as each week and month goes by more and more people will begin to turn to all of their elected officials and ask “why?”

Since it’s formation in February, Indivisible- Oswego County has provided a variety of community support activities offering folks an opportunity to resist peacefully the continual dismantling of our Democracy. Regular community meetings, bridge rally’s, social media contacts, and a Town Hall have brought out people of all walks of life and political affiliation. While we have been accused of being a “left-wing radical organization” who pays people to attend, nothing is farther from the truth. Our mission is to welcome all who share in the belief and support of our government.

Now it is even more important to continue our efforts, increase our visibility, and support the good people of our community. On July 10th at 2 pm, the Oswego County Legislature will meet in the County Office Building for their monthly meeting. Continuing to show that we care and we expect support, please make an effort to attend. Your respectful attendance is appreciated. Think of this as another rally as we do on the bridge Saturday mornings. And if you are willing, sign up for a 5-minute time slot to express your feelings during the Public Comment segment at the end of the meeting. Let your representatives hear your voices.
