Summer brings plenty of fun outdoor traditions, like backyard barbeques, picnics on the beach, and, of course, plenty of fireworks.

The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center is excited to announce a new three-session series for young learners titled Chickadee Kids.

This engaging program will take place on Thursday mornings—August 7, 14, and 21—from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Center, located in eastern Oswego County.

Designed for youth ages 5 to 12, with older youth welcome to attend, Chickadee Kids introduces participants to the fascinating world of birds through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration. Activities will include Bird Bingo, Bird Survivor, and migration obstacle course along with guided birdwatching experiences. For more information, visit thatscooperativeextension.org/events/2025/07/23/chickadee-kids.

This program offers a unique opportunity for children to connect with nature, learn about local bird species, and develop an appreciation for wildlife in a fun and interactive setting. While space is limited, registration is open to all youth—residency in Oswego County is not required. The fee to participate is $15 per youth, if the youth is not previously enrolled in the Oswego County 4-H Program. Advance registration is required to attend. Please register at https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/Chickadeekids_235.

If you need assistance or more information, please contact Katrina Relyea, 4-H Natural Resources Educator with Oswego County 4-H Office at (315) 963-7286. ext. 401 or [email protected].
