Hair Salon Expands Gift Shop, Adds Team Members

The New Chapter of Bella Hair “Oswego”

Bella Hair is thrilled to announce their recent expansion in downtown Oswego. Located in Canal Commons, same location but the newly expanded space features a larger gift shop, more room to serve clients, and the warm, welcoming riverside atmosphere that they’ve worked so hard to create.

Barbara J. Knosp, 86, of Oswego, passed away on September 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Fulton, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude (McDonald) Holmes.

Barbara worked as a secretary at Charles E. Riley Elementary School.  She also worked at Lakeshore Transportation and Canale’s Restaurant.

Growing up, Barbara participated in acrobatics and Fulton Cheerleading. She won “Best Smile” of her senior class. Barbara loved being a mom and grandmother.

Barbara is survived by her three daughters, Theresa (Kenneth) Kern of Oswego, Donna Knosp of Baldwinsville, Kimberly (Sam) Meeker of Clay, a son Donald (Ellen) Knosp Jr. of Oswego, six beloved grandchildren, Kevin Kern, Bryan Kern, Katie Stevens, Brianne Bos, Brandon Borrow and Ashley Celi, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Knosp Sr., her brother Peter Holmes, and her sister Patricia Pomeroy.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-6 pm on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7th, at 11 am at Nelson Funeral Home, followed by burial in St. Peter Cemetery. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
