Write a commentConnextCare has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the Richard S. Shineman Foundation to support the opening of the Hannibal Warrior Wellness Center, a new School-Based Health Center (SBHC) located within the Hannibal Central School District.
Scheduled to open this fall, the Wellness Center will expand access to healthcare by providing students with convenient, comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health services right at school.
The $150,000 grant will fund essential medical and dental equipment, furnishings, technology, and other resources needed to prepare the Hannibal Warrior Wellness Center for its opening this fall.
The Richard S. Shineman Foundation's investment reflects a shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of Oswego County residents by expanding access to healthcare and strengthening community partnerships. Through this grant, the Foundation is helping ensure Hannibal students have access to the resources they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
The Hannibal Warrior Wellness Center reflects a collaborative partnership between ConnextCare and the Hannibal Central School District to improve access to healthcare and reduce barriers that often prevent students from receiving timely care. Once open, enrolled students will have access to preventive care, annual physicals, immunizations, treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, chronic disease management, behavioral health counseling, preventive dental services, oral health education, and referrals for additional care when needed.

The Hannibal Warrior Wellness Center is the newest addition to ConnextCare's growing network of School-Based Health Centers throughout Oswego County. By integrating healthcare directly into the school setting, the center will help reduce time away from the classroom, encourage early intervention, and provide students with convenient access to trusted healthcare professionals.

Enrollment information will be shared with Hannibal Central School District families prior to the start of the school year. Once enrolled, students will have convenient access to healthcare services throughout the school year, helping them stay healthy, remain in the classroom, and reach their full potential.
