Virginia Rose Wahrendorf , 93, of Oswego died peacefully with her family by her side at her home in Oswego on October 15, 2016.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late James and Nancy (Marigani) Sereno.

Virginia was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed hosting family events and traveling with her husband. She loved going for walks, playing cards and going to the casino.

She worked as a Clerk for the City of Oswego, while raising her pride and joy, her five children.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years Clifford, sons Clifford (Bonnie) Wahrendorf of Oswego, Donald (Laurie) Wahrendorf of Fair Haven, David (Kathy) Wahrendorf of Oswego, Brad Wahrendorf of Oswego; a daughter Carol (Philip) Carroll of Oswego; grandchildren Jo’ell Lagatella, Dustin Wahrendorf, Philip Carroll, Stacy Dawson, Jerritt Wahrendorf, Nicole Freebern, Kristen DeSantis, Emily Wahrendorf, David Wahrendorf, Jr., Vanessa Wahrendorf, Stephen Carroll, Courtney Johnston, Chelsea Wahrendorf, Alyssa Wahrendorf; 20 great grandchildren;1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph, Jasper, Michael, Matthew, James, Nick Sereno, Connie Salisbury, and Helen Babcock.

Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Minetto. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, PO BOX 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
