A SUNY Oswego alumni from 2015 have made great strides in the Electronic Dance Music industry with his new single "Splatter."

Dan, aka DanWritesSins, has grown up in various areas of Upstate New York. He graduated from SUNY Oswego in 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Brain Studies and Clinical Neurology. "I alternated semesters between college on the East Coast and touring on the West Coast," Dan stated.

Dan began touring at an early age. "At the age of 16 I started touring with Warped Tour as a merch guy, I was making a lot of connections which I eventually used for my own music endeavor," he stated.

"I'm an Electronic Dance Music vocal stylist," mentioned Dan. "The EDM genre is so multifaceted that I didn't want to limit myself to just rapping, singing, or spoken vocals. So I fail miserably at doing them all," he said. For the last few years, DanWritesSins was signed to DMI Music, but "got sick" of being signed to a 360 deal. "My fans suffered as I refused to release music until my contract expired. When it did, Ultra Records reached out to snag me quick," he mentioned.

TVAs his music career flourished, so did the venues DanWritesSins performed at: "Aside from two tours as an opening act for Warped Tour, I've done many meet and greets and special appearances, my most notable so far being Ultra Music Festival in Miami last year on the Carl Cox stage," said Dan.

Besides having an established music career, Dan works at a treatment facility for psychological and developmental disorders. "I'll always find satisfaction in donating my efforts to the overall cause for treating mental health," he said.

"Splatter is a mix of heavy house production and heavy glitch-rap vocals. I'm also in the process of working on my first full-length EP so shoutout to everyone for being so patient with me!"
