Mae was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel (Andrus) Ranous. She was a life resident of the area.

She was a graduate of Oswego High School, and a member of the Minetto Methodist Church.

She was the wife of the late Kenneth McKinstry, who died in 1990.

Mae is survived by a daughter, Linda (Mike Flumerfelt) McKinstry of Altmar; a son Kenneth (Lori) McKinstry of Baldwinsville; a sister, Vivian DeMent of Minetto; two grandchildren, Erin and Brian; a great-grandson, Hunter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Alan Ranous.

Services will be private.

Burial will be in Minetto Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to Oswego Meals on Wheels; or to the American Heart Association.
