     Walter A. Pospesel, 97, a resident of Oswego passed away on July 15 at the Seneca Hill Manor.

     Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Andrew and Grace (Morrision) Pospesel and was a graduate of the Oswego High School. He was employed with the Armstrong Industries for 35 years. Mr. Pospesel was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the European Theatre during World War II. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was well known for running the Fish Cleaning Station at Wright's Landing for many years. Walter recently received a Certificate of Recognition from Senator Patty Ritchie for his Unwavering Dedication and Service to the United States of America.

     Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Irene Elkin, two sons, Karl (Debbie) Pospesel of Collins N.Y., Kirk Pospesel of Clinton Corners, N.Y., a daughter, Glenda Falise of Oswego, a brother,Bruce Pospesel of Oswego, a sister, Eileen Esford of Oswego, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

     He was predeceased by his son, Joseph L. Pospesel in 2009 and his brothers, Joseph, Charles, Frederick, Arnold and Nelson Pospesel.

     Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 5:00 from the Dowdle Funeral Home.

     Burial in the future will be held in Rural Cemetery.

     Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 prior to the service.

     In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the the family to honor Walter with a bench in his name at Wright's Landing.
