PS Happy Valentine's Day :):):)
Last year’s OPF was an overwhelming success when more than 20 performances (bands, storytellers, poets, barbershop quartets, and a choir) appeared on the front porches of 17 different homes. Oswego’s first ever Porchfest saw approximately 800 guests stroll through the neighborhoods and enjoy this free community building festival.
The performers donate their talent and time. The host homes donate the use of their porches, front or side yards and/or driveways for the performances. Many of the host homes also offered free bottled water, snacks and in some cases fired up their outdoor grills and provided hot dogs and hamburgers.
The OPF Committee has announced it’s annual T-shirt Design Contest which is open to anyone who would like to submit a Design Entry. The design has to include the title; “Oswego PorchFest 2016” along with any other elements the designer comes up with. Last year’s winning design, submitted by Kylie Pelkey, 2015 OHS Grad., featured a guitar in the shape of a rocking chair; tying the elements of the performance and a porch together.
Entries must be submitted by April 10, 2016 and can be emailed to; [email protected] or dropped off in person at Taste the World Specialty Foods and Coffee located in the Canal Commons on W 1st St in Oswego.
Entries become the property of Oswego PorchFest. The winning entry will be featured on this year’s T-shirts with acknowledge and credit being given to the designer(s).
