“Charlotte’s Web” tells the tale of a young pig, Wilbur, who is saved from the slaughter house by mean’s of an ingenious spider, Charlotte. Eudora Welty a famous writer in her own right described the story this way, “The book is about friendship on earth, affection and protection, adventure and miracle, life and death, trust and treachery, pleasure and pain, and the passing of time. As a piece of work it is just about perfect, and just about magical in the way it is done.”
The production features a large cast of area youth including, Cheyenna Gordon, as Charlotte, Dovavin Powless, as Wilbur, Maya Loomis, as Templeton, and Niyah Burlingham as Fern. Other cast members include Madeline Loomis, as the Narrator, Ava, Evan Roddy and Luke Jones as the Arable family, Trystan Connally and Caroline Gray, as the Zuckerman’s. Also appearing are Madeline Loomis as The Narrator, Tatianna Fultz, as the Goose, Harley Loomis, as the Gander, Abigail LeReau, as the Sheep, Madison Wilson, as the Lamb, Shae Penny as Lurvey, Journey Gerard, as The Reporter, and Madison Neville, as The Photographer
"Charlotte's Web" is directed by Gary Smith and Tom Nunez, assisted by Samantha McAuslin. as the stage manager. Kelly Mosher and Wayne A Mosher Jr, will act as the show's producers. The play was adapted for the stage by Joseph Robinette, and is presented by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing inc.
The production is slated to be performed on July 29th at 7:30 pm and on July 30th and 31st at 2:00 pm, at the New Haven Congregational Church located on Route 104 East between Oswego and Mexico. A Second weekend of performances will be presented, on August 5th and 6th at 7:30 pm and on August 7th at 2:00 pm at the Oswego Youth Center at Fort Ontario Park in Oswego.
