Write a commentJazz guitarist Peter Bernstein visited Paul Brewster's Oswego Middle School eighth-grade general music classes while in town for an evening performance at SUNY Oswego.
Bernstein is a highly respected musician, touring worldwide as both a soloist and support musician. His visit was timely, as the eighth-grade students are in the midst of a guitar unit. The art classes also attended the performance since they will be taking music in the second semester.
Berstein not only showed the limitless potential of the instrument, but he spoke to what it means to practice and strategies to improve as both a guitarist and all-around musician. This was a unique and valuable experience for these OMS students. His visit was sponsored by the Arts in Education program.
