Students at Leighton Elementary School will Jump Rope for Heart on Feb. 12 to benefit the American Heart Association. This year, however, there are some extra incentives for students to raise additional money for the annual event, according to Leighton School Physical Education Teacher Ted Beers.

"The American Heart Association and Leighton School wanted to add some incentives to make this year's event the most successful ever," said Beers. "This year, if our school raises just one dollar more than last year, I will be wearing a one piece duck suit to teach my physical education class in for two days."

"I am also looking at creative ways to award our top three students, who raise the most money," he said.

In addition, every student that participates in the Jump Rope for Heart event at Leighton School will earn an extra physical education class, and the classroom that raises the most money will also earn an extra physical education class.
