Frederick Leighton Elementary School students kicked off the year with a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) assembly. After principal Julie Burger reviewed the school rules, a friendly game of Family Feud focusing on proper lunch room etiquette was on the agenda. Oswego Football Coach Mike Conners noted his team had to keep turnovers at a minimum and keep the game close in the first half as the Bucs opened the season at Joe Wilber Field Friday night, Sept. 6.
The Oswego High School girls' varsity volleyball team made the finals of tournament action while the swimmers were successful in invitational action and the golfers gained another victory.

The Oswego High School cheerleading team led by coaches Tiffany Gilles and Tiffany Fultz recently attended a National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) two-day camp. The Bucs had cheerleaders that were nominated for the All-America team. The JV and varsity teams were both awarded a bid to nationals. The cheerleaders thanked the community for its support at their chicken barbecue held over the weekend. Enough money was raised to purchase new uniforms.
