Soul, R&B, roots and world rhythms. Audience members will hear it all when duo Karen Savoca and Peter Heizman come to Oswego Music Hall Saturday, November 21st at 7:30 pm. When vocals, drums, and guitar meet with their own soulful style, these seven-time Syracuse Area Music Award winners are sure to fill Oswego Music Hall with a unique and relaxing sound this fall.

Percussionist and singer Karen Savoca moved to Syracuse, NY at the age of thirteen. It was there she met Syracuse native and guitarist, Pete Heizman. Together, they formed their own distinct style, a combination of rock, pop, jazz and blues that Savoca likes to call “heavy petal.” The Acoustic Guitar Magazine says Heizman is “a true virtuoso of groove, with a sly touch that, combined with Savoca's in-the-pocket drumming and spectacularly soulful vocals, gives the duo the impact of a four-piece band.”

The duo have released eight CDs on their own Alcove Records label, and are currently working to record their ninth, due out in 2016. From a café just off the Syracuse University campus to the ninth album they are currently working to produce, their distinct style has taken them far.

Former appearances include The Today Show, Mountain Stage on NPR, and extensive performances with Greg Brown. Now, they take to the stage at Oswego Music Hall to display their talent here on the shores of Lake Ontario. Find out more about the duo by visiting their website: http://www.karensavoca.com
