Last Friday night's action saw a total of 89 karts in attendance with 11 of 18 heat races being completed before a heavy rain shower soaked the Kartway racing surface just prior to 8 p.m.
With all heat races not being completed the show was totally cancelled, meaning the racing program will start over this Friday. Heat race points will not be awarded for any divisions last week, as all of the heat races were not completed.
All drivers that were entered and paid last Friday will be given free entries this Friday, May 16. Drivers will still have to sign in at the main pit window and again draw a pill for Friday night's heat races. The pill draw officially closes at 6:15pm.
Crew members and fans that were in the pit area last Friday can exchange their May 9 pit wristband for a May 16 wristband at the pit window, free of charge. If you do not return to the track on Friday with last week's pit wristband you will have to pay again to enter the pits this week.
There are no exceptions in this policy. If you do not bring your May 9 wristband to the pit window, as instructed over the public address last week, you will have to pay for another pit pass on Friday.
Friday night's racing marks the first event counting toward the Oswego Kartway Driver Rewards program, featuring two brand new Slack Xpect racing chassis from Root Racing Enterprises and Performance Manufacturing, which will be awarded to two lucky drivers at the season ending championship banquet.
A 14 division racing card is on the docket for Friday night, including a new junior racing division.
Jr. Purple Clone will be added to the racing schedule as a middle ground between Jr. Green Clone and Jr. Blue Clone. The Jr. Purple class will run at 275 lbs. with drivers ranging in ages between 7-11 years old.
Other junior classes include Sr. Blue Clone and Gold Plate flathead.
Senior racing divisions will include Stock Light, Stock Heavy, Stock 425, Clone Light, Clone Heavy, Clone 425, BSP Clone (open pipe, open clutch), Open, and Champ Kart.
Pit gates will open for competitors beginning at 4:30pm with hot laps scheduled to hit the Kartway at 6:30pm. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm
Entry fees for Kartway members will be set at $15 while non-member entry fees are $18, with pit passes included. Pit passes will also be available for spectators for just $10.
Friday night's racing program will see heat race lineups determined by a pill draw, with feature lineups starting straight up from heat race finishes.
As always spectators are welcome to come to the Kartway and enjoy the racing action with a full concession stand available. Spectator admission is just $5 a car load.
Kartway events run May through September on most Friday nights, culminating with the Fall Frenzy 200 Championships on Saturday, September 20.
