The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center will be presenting a public program on beavers, Leave it to Beavers, on Sunday, October 30st at 2:00 pm.
Naturalist Pat Carney will give a brief indoor introduction to the natural history of the beaver, then lead a short walk to the pond in hopes of observing the activity of the resident beavers preparing their lodge and stocking their larder for the coming winter. Osprey, herons, mink, migrating waterfowl, and other interesting pond life may also be observed. A limited number of binoculars will be available for use. Dress for a cool weather walk.
There is a $4.00 fee per person with a family rate of $12.00. Children under the age of 3 are free. The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center is located at 748 State Route 183 in Amboy, between Routes 69 and 13 near Williamstown in eastern Oswego County.
