Lighthouse Coworks to Celebrate International Coworking Week

This week is International Coworking Week and Lighthouse Coworks is hosting events and a promotion to grow the Oswego coworking community. The promotion, including a free trial period all week, is designed to celebrate the growth of coworking around the world and invite local business people to try out the services.

In coworking, entrepreneurs, freelancers, home businesses, and other professionals who need office space can work in a shared space, share important services like business internet and conference room, and build a community of entrepreneurs. In addition to lowering costs, coworking also helps with common home business problems like home distractions and better work/life balance.

The events will kick off with a breakfast at the Oswego Network of Entrepreneurs meeting Wednesday Aug. 5 beginning at 8 a.m. Any local entrepreneur is welcome to attend. On Friday, Aug. 7, after the Oswego Summer Concert Series concert at 8p.m., Lighthouse Coworks hosts an afterparty at their space at 186 W. 1st St. that will feature food, drinks, that is free and open to the public. The event series will come to a close on Sunday Aug. 9 with an informal “coffee and coworking” open house running from noon to 2pm. All small business owners are invited to ask questions and learn more about how the coworking concept might help their business goals.

International Coworking Week is a global promotion to celebrate the growth of coworking and the services available at many locations around the world. “By hosting events locally during International Coworking Week we hope to let people in the Oswego area know about the services available nearby and encourage them to explore the idea with us. At Lighthouse Coworks we hope to grow our coworking community and hopefully this week will help us work towards that goal,” said Gary Ritzenthaler, Lighthouse Coworks coowner.

“I’m really excited that we’re hosting an event series to take part in international coworking week especially because we are a new coworking space. I think that by hosting events it is a fun way to help people become aware of and learn more about not just coworking, but Lighthouse Coworks.,” said Ellen Clark, Lighthouse Coworks cofounder.
