Write a commentThe following is a letter from Linda DeMassi announcing her candidacy for the position of Oswego 2nd Ward Councilor:
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself if we haven’t already met. My name is Linda DeMassi and I am running for 2nd Ward Councilor.
Being a lifelong resident I have been involved in the ever changing ups and downs of our economy, our standards of living, our standards of parenting, our leadership and the decisions that have, in time, almost crippled our city with no return. I am sure past Mayors and Councilors had all the right intentions but there became a domino effect of errors that got us here.
I’ve never felt stronger about our administration and the direction our city is going in. I look forward to being part of the team but I have my own voice and we will be heard.
In the past 2 years I have been not only attending Common Council meetings, DRI (Downtown Revitalization Initiative) meetings, but participating. I now feel confident to take on the role as your councilor. Together we will make a difference.
