The H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center is pleased to host a "Meet the Puppeteer" workshop, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, at the museum located on the West First Street Pier in Oswego's Historic Maritime District.
Master puppeteer Joe Cashore, of the renowned Cashore Marionettes, will discuss and demonstrate to the audience how he designs and manipulates his marionettes to give them human-like movements. His eye for observation has allowed him to create life-like puppets that tell stories, some whimsical, some more emotional, drawing the audience into the experience.
"Cashore incorporates the realities of our life experiences into his puppet tales," stated Mercedes Niess, executive director of the museum and Maritime Center.
This program, geared for adults and youth ages 9 years and older, is in partnership with the SUNY Oswego Artswego programs "Simple Gifts" and "Life in Motion" scheduled for Sept. 7.
Space is limited, to reserve a seat contact the museum at 315-342-0480 or [email protected].
