Hobart advances to face the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point – the nation's No. 1 ranked team – in a semifinal on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Oswego and Hobart traded goals in the first period, with the Statesmen striking first.
• Lawson MacDougall intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and took a breakaway one-on-none, narrowly beating Laker goalie David Richer to his right.
• The Lakers did not waste much time evening the tilt, answering Hobart's challenge a tad more than two minutes later.
• Senior Devin Campbell saved a puck from exiting the offensive zone at the blue line and found classmate Josh Nenadal inside the right circle. Nenadal sent a pass in front of the crease to a waiting Joseph Molinaro, who buried the puck in the back of the net at 16:20 to knot the game at 1-1.
• Following the first intermission, Hobart gained control of the game with a pair of goals, both coming on special teams.
• In the first two minutes of the middle period, the Statesmen notched a power-play goal following a cross-checking penalty on Oswego.
• Oswego seemed poised to tally an equalizer 10-minutes later with Hobart serving a two-minute infraction for roughing. The Statesmen flipped the script, as Travis Schneider grabbed a loose puck just outside their offensive zone with no defenders in front, scoring shorthanded at 13:29.
• During the final period, the Lakers added some excitement late, cashing in off a face-off following a timeout. With a little more than 12 seconds remaining in the contest, Travis Broughman tallied a rebound goal to put Oswego just one-goal down. The rebound goal came off a Michael Gillespie shot on-net after a won face-off by Josh Zizek.
• Oswego pushed forward on the final face-off but was unable to record a shot as the buzzer sounded.
• Richer made 12 saves in between the pipes for Oswego.
• The Lakers nearly doubled the Statesmen in shots on-goal (28-15) and blocked one more shot (11-10) than their opponent while both teams won 29 face-offs.

Oswego finishes the year with 19-7-2 record and will return 27 players from its 31-man roster for the 2019-20 campaign.
