After testing earlier in the evening, and previously on Saturday afternoon, with older 9" tires used during last season's Bud Light SBS Classic, Bond bolted on four brand new softer 10" Hoosier Racing Tires for the first time on Thursday at around 6:30pm.

     In just four hot laps on the Speedway Bond cranked off three times in the 18-second bracket, each consecutively faster, topping out with a lap of 18.704 seconds at just over 120mph. Bond's lap of 18.704 is the first recorded lap with an average of over 120mph in the history of the division.

     After turning the fast lap Bond promptly pulled his No. 74 FFB chassis to the pit area, and loaded his racer into the trailer.

     While Bond's lap is the fastest ever recorded at the Speedway, it is unofficial. Track records can only be set at the Speedway during qualifying time trials, meaning Bond and the rest of the field will have a chance at Brian Sobus' 2009 record of 19.081 seconds this weekend.

     The entire Four Sevens Motorsports Small Block Super team was on hand at the Thursday test session, each setting impressive times.

     Returning veteran Steve Abt turned several laps in the 19.1 second range, while both Danny Abt and Jon Tesoriero were consistently in the 19.2 second bracket.

     Consensus is that the wider and softer SBS tire will no doubt increase speeds, putting the Sobus record of 2009 in jeopardy when time trials take to the Speedway on Saturday at 5pm.

     Gater Racing News will present the 64th annual opening day celebration featuring the first round of the Shea Concrete 'Steel Palace' ISMA Super Series, and the Road to the Championship lid lifter for the Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super Series on Saturday, May 3.

     The ultra-fast winged ISMA Supermodifieds will take on the Oswego speed plant for 56-laps in the 2nd annual 'Irish' Jack Murphy Memorial, while the SBS will contend in their first 35-lap main of the year.

     Grandstand gates will open at 3 p.m. on May 3 with time trials set to start at 5 p.m. followed by racing at 6:30 p.m.

     Once again in 2014, kids 16 & under will be admitted free of charge with a paid adult with active military also admitted free with I.D.

     A rain date for Saturday's event has been posted for Sunday, May 4.

     Saturday's ISMA Supermodified event at Oswego Speedway will mark the first of four Shea Concrete 'Steel Palace' ISMA Super Series events at the Speedway.

     A year-long Oswego Super Series champion will be determined with events running on May 3, June 7, July 12, and August 30.
