SUNY Oswego's engineering programs are the beneficiary of a $1 million dollar endowment by Syracuse engineering firm SRC, Inc.

SRC CEO Paul Tremont announced the endowment with college President Deborah Stanley today at a ceremony in the Richard S. Shineman Center for Science, Engineering and Innovation. The gift is to be used to endow a professorship in the school’s engineering program. The endowment is intended to help the college attract and retain world-class faculty for the school’s engineering program. The professorship is slated to be in place for the fall semester of the 2020 academic year.

This gift furthers the existing relationship between SRC and Oswego State. SRC previously gifted a $100,000 dollar endowment to be used for scholarships in the engineering programs. Since 2014, the college has offered a customized MBA program for employees of SRC. Twenty-one SRC employees have graduated with their MBA’s in the first offering of the program, and a second cohort began their studies in 2018. SRC leadership team members also participate on the School of Business and School of Engineering Advisory Boards.
