In early December, Off Broadway Dance Center (OBDC) opened in their new location at 420 County Route 3 in Fulton. In celebration, a ribbon cutting was held on December 16th.

Open since 1997, Off Broadway Dance Center began in a small store-front on State Route 3. As they grew, OBDC performed out of two other spaces in Fulton, Schuyler Commons and their most recent location in the Neighborhood Plaza.

OBDC owner, Ellen Marshall, recently purchased and renovated the former Granby Center United Methodist Church. The new facility features two teaching studios with sprung wood flooring systems, an Acro studio with wall to wall gymnastics mats, a large parent waiting room, two bathrooms and a huge parking lot. Improvements to the building include a new electrical system, a new heating system, new windows and doors and fully remodeled bathrooms.

OBDC offers weekly classes for those age 2 through high-school in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Acro. Specialized classes offered include Mommy & Me, Adult Dance and Adult Fitness.

Off Broadway Dance Center is home to 250 students. Recitals are presented twice a year in December and June. Students also perform at local events, including parades and Syracuse Crunch games.

OBDC’s Competition Team competes all over New York State. They have brought home many awards including High Score Awards, Title Awards and Judge’s Special Awards.
