The Oswego Speedway and Novelis, the series sponsor of the famed Supermodified division, are proud to announce the return of the popular 'Novelis Fan Can Chase' in 2013.

In the past three seasons, this recycling partnership has surpassed the half million mark in recyclable cans thanks to the generous race fans that have donated an average of more than 100,000 cans for each of the past seven seasons in exchange for race tickets and other Oswego Speedway prizes.

Once again, in 2013, at each of the three 'Novelis Fan Can Chase' nights there will be a 2-Seat Supermodified ride raffled off. Each fan that brings in 500 or more cans on a can night will get one chance at a 2-Seat ride to be raffled that evening and scheduled for a date to be determined. Valued at $150, a ride in the 2-Seat Supermodified is sure to be the thrill of a lifetime.

As in years passed, there will once again be three "Get Your Can to the Speedway" race nights in 2013. The first is set for Saturday, May 25, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. This date will coincide with the annual Memorial Day Weekend special at the Speedway featuring the Novelis Supermodified Jim Shampine Memorial 75, the Pathfinder Bank SBS Series Tony White Memorial 35 and the RoC Modified Richie Evans Memorial 75.

The second night for the program will come Saturday, July 6 from 3-6 p.m. leading up to the Grand Prix night of racing at the Speedway with extra laps in order for the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS Series. The evening will be capped off with an outstanding fireworks display and will run in conjunction with the Toys for Tots "Christmas in July."

The final of the three 'Novelis Fan Can Chase' nights will be during the annual Mr. Novelis Supermodified and Mr. Pathfinder Bank SBS Series night at the races on Saturday, Aug. 3. Again, the times for the can collection will follow the 3-6 p.m. format.

The recycling can program prizes offered for 2013 will again focus on reducing the overall cost of a night at the Speedway for fans. Budweiser International Classic Weekend tickets and season passes will still be the primary prizes that are awarded.

Since all fans must purchase a race ticket on the dates of the collections to earn any prizes that are offered, some fans will instantly get a break on their night choice inside the Speedway. The donation of 100-199 New York State 6 cent recyclable cans from the same household will earn one family member a $7 food voucher for the concession stands on that night. Households with donations of 200-499 cans will earn one (1) General Admission ticket for a future regular race night, while those who donate between 500-999 cans will be rewarded with two (2) General Admission tickets for a future regular race night and one chance to win a 2-Seat Supermodified ride to be raffled that night.

All households with donations of 1,000 or more will win guaranteed general admission passes for two on Saturday and Sunday of Budweiser International Classic Weekend, as well as a chance to win a 2-Seat Supermodified ride.
Only one reward, per household, per redemption can be cashed in on a single race night. Once a household donates to a certain prize level (100, 200, 500, 1000), they will receive only that level's rewards, not all those below as well. Please refer to the prize level chart listed below.

The collection totals for fans will be kept for all three events. After the Saturday, Aug. 3, collection date, the top 12 fans in season long 'Novelis Fan Can Chase' totals will qualify as prize winners in the 2013 Novelis can collection contest. The top donating household for the season will earn first choice of the following prizes: two 2014 regular season pit passes, two 2014 regular season reserved seat tickets or two 2014 regular season SkyDeck passes.

The second highest donating household will have their choice of the two remaining prizes; while third will earn the final prize.

Fans representing households from fourth through 12th positions will all receive 2013 grandstand general admission for two for Saturday and Sunday of Budweiser International Classic Weekend.

The Top 12 overall households will all earn one chance at a 2-Seat Supermodified ride.

All fans are reminded not to split up their donations on the three race dates. Several fans in the past have separated race date donations into different names and have missed out on season-long prizes even though those multiple donations were, in fact, from the same household. Splitting up race date donations, in excess of 100 cans will not result in additional $7 food vouchers being issued.

As in the past, names and phone numbers will need to be on all bags turned in and a photo ID will be required, as only one food voucher will be issued per residence. Food vouchers will be dated for use on the date they are issued and must be used in one concession transaction. Food vouchers are good for all menu items except beer and wine.

The 2013 racing season at Oswego Speedway begins May 4. Events run May through September on most Saturday nights, culminating with the Fall Championship 75 on Sept. 14.

The annual Speedway open practice is scheduled for 5-10 p.m., April 27.
