Today, Friday October 25th, Novella’s Style celebrated their grand opening at 141 E. Bridge Street in Oswego with a ribbon cutting.

The grand opening was attended by Sara Broadwell and Taylor Davis from the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Oswego Mayor Rob Corradino, iHeart Oswego, the salon’s staff, and owner Angelina Torres and her family.

Torres’ family has a long history with haircuts and styling in Oswego; her grandfather Joe Donato operated a barbershop on Oak Street a number of years ago. Her sister Sophia also has her beautician license and is working with her in the salon.

“This just doesn’t feel like work to me,” said Torres. “I love making people feel good about themselves and the way they look.”

Currently, hours are set mainly by appointment, though walk-ins are also welcome. Folks planning to visit the salon should call ahead to book. “We’re very flexible right now, but each member of our team is also still figuring out what their individual hours will look like,” said Torres. “We’ll have a better idea of our operating hours in a few weeks.”

Novella’s Style offers haircuts, color, and styles, as well as waxing, lashes, and other aesthetic services, with more in the pipeline. Technician Drea is working on certifications for the additional services of extensions and braids, while Kali is planning to join after completing her microblading certification.

The salon is also looking for an additional stylist interested in a booth rental. Interested technicians should call the shop at 315-530-7339.

The cozy salon includes a private room set up for aesthetic services like facials, lashes, and waxing. Its setup is incredibly relaxing, with mood lighting, music, and homey furniture. “It’s so comfortable in here, I could take a nap,” said Torres with a smile. “I want people to feel as relaxed as possible while getting pampered by our technicians.” Torres has plans to add dividers and a second bed to the space as the business grows.
