Four new members were sworn in Wednesday and officers elected during the organizational meeting of the Oswego City School District Board of Education for the 2023-24 school year.

James MacKenzie was re-elected to the Board of Education, with Julie Chetney, Sean Callen and Kristin Norfleet newly elected and all four were sworn in by District Clerk Diane Schrader. The meeting was held July 5 in the Oswego High School library.

The board then was tasked with electing officers, resulting with MacKenzie as the president for 2023-24 and Tom Ciappa returning as vice president for his third consecutive year. Both were then sworn in and signed their Oaths of Office.

The full 2023-24 BOE meeting schedule and meeting minutes are available via the OCSD website, Oswego.org. All meetings are live streamed and recorded then made available online for those unable to attend or watch live.

The next OCSD Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 18 at 5 p.m. in the OHS Library. The public is welcome to attend and anyone coming to the meeting should enter through the school’s main entrance.
