The story of Little Women is so well known and so well loved that it is hardly surprising that many attempts have been made to portray its characters upon the stage. None has yet been so successful, however, as this brilliant dramatization by Peter Clapham. The structure of the play faithfully covers that of the novel, interweaving the lives of the March girls, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, and Laurie, the boy next door, as they grow up happily together - yet the action is contained neatly in one set. All the overtones of gaiety and the undertones of sadness are here, bringing the story completely to life in a way which is both accurate and dramatically satisfying.
Producer Robert Dumas commented, “With the set well under way and actors already rehearsing whole acts off-book, it will be a true delight to see what the finished product looks like when we open!”
The cast is made up of both veteran Drama Club members and new faces, the audience will love what each actor brings to their character. The cast is as follows: Rachel Leotta as Jo, Leah Mullen as Meg, Keelan McGreevy as Beth, Hannah Strzelinski as Amy, Natalie Griffin as Marmee, Olivia DeLorenzo as Hannah, Ellie Richmond as Aunt March, Doug Schneider as Laurie, Nolan Callahan as Brooke, Jordan Crapser as Mr. Lawrence, and Aidan McGreevey as Mr. March.
The cast is very excited about how the show is coming along. “I’ve been working with such an incredible cast and I’m beyond excited for people to see the final product” said Junior actor, Doug Schneider.
