Executive Director of United Way of Greater Oswego County Patrick Dewine has announced that Kayla Van Fleet has been named the agency’s finance director. A native of Fair Haven, Van Fleet, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SUNY Oswego, previously worked as a human resources generalist for Fowler Bros., Inc. in Wolcott.

In recognition of October being Domestic Violence Month, staff from Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Services to Aid Families program donned their purple to take part in “Wear Purple Day” in New York State.
Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program Partnership (CSPP) wrapped up their Breast Cancer Awareness month activities by creating its 6th annual human pink ribbon in Oswego County. Over 60 people, dressed in pink, gathered in the parking lot of the Fulton Medical Office Building to form a human pink ribbon in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Staff members of the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office recognized “Wear Purple Day” by wearing purple to raise awareness of, and honor the survivors of, domestic violence in Oswego County.
Deborah F. Stanley, president of SUNY Oswego, was elected chair-elect of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities' board of directors during the association's annual meeting on Oct. 27. She will serve as chair in 2017.
