Oswego Children's Theater to Present Classic Musical “The Wizard of Oz” at 2019 Harborfest

The Oswego Children's Theater will present the classic tale "The Wizard of Oz" for the 2019 edition of the annual Harborfest children's musical.

For the last several years the Harborfest Children's Musical has become a popular feature in the festival's schedule. Continuing the this tradition Oswego Children's Theater assummed production last year by presenting "Disney's 101 Dalmations Kids", with a cast of over 60 area youth.

Preparations for this years production began with auditions on Sunday April 28 and will continue on, with casting decisions being announced later this month and rehearsals begining shortly after. With a wellbeloved story and a potential cast of of over 75, this year's production is sure to please.

As with last year's production, award winning directors Lyndsie and Kenneth Jones will take charge of the stage and music leadership roles, aided by producers Wayne and Kelly Mosher along with a group of dedicated parents.

Harborfest is one of the few admission-free festivals of it's type in the country. It was founded with the mission of creating a nationally recognized entertainment venue that attracts and engages a broad and diverse audience, celebrates and builds the local community, and advances economic development in Oswego, New York.
