The SUNY Oswego art department's annual faculty exhibition will run Oct. 10 to Nov. 9 at the Art Association of Oswego's arts center across from Fort Ontario on East Fourth Street in Oswego.
A free public artists' reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Oswego Civic Arts Center in the former Fort Ontario Quartermaster's Building. Space limitations arising from renovations to the college's Tyler Hall helped open up this opportunity for community and college collaboration.

The SUNY Oswego art department annually shares familiar themes and recent developments from the professional artists that make up its full- and part-time faculty and professional staff. Artistic media on view in the exhibition vary annually, but likely will include book arts, ceramics, digitally based work, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and video.

The not-for-profit Art Association of Oswego was founded in 1990 with the purpose of furthering art appreciation, art education and cultural enrichment for the surrounding areas. The Oswego Players, a community theatre group, uses a 60-seat Frances Marion Brown Theatre in the Oswego Civic Arts Center.

The faculty art exhibition's hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 2 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at the arts center.

For more information on SUNY Oswego art exhibitions, contact Michael Flanagan, director of Tyler Art Gallery, at 312-2112 or [email protected].
