The Port City will be hosting an abundance of fun and engaging events during the months of November and December to celebrate the holiday season. There is something for everyone including children, music lovers and, of course, holiday shoppers.

     Holiday happenings include:
Nov. 8 and 22: Enjoy local musicians from 7-9 p.m. at Taste the World's Mug 'o Music in Canal Commons.
Nov. 9: The Art Association of Oswego (AAO) is hosting the first Holiday / Gallery Tour from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tour includes: printmaker Bill Demott, whose studio is at the Oswego Armory; Allen Bjorkman of the Picture Connection is opening his Fenix Art Studio; Lakeside Artisans, a unique art gallery with local artists; Oswego State Downtown gallery will exhibit Painterly Prints by Mary Pierce's printmaking students; and Zink Shirts, with original screen prints, will also have their gallery open. In addition, several artists will be displaying their work at the AAO, including: Kathy Besaw, Sandra Dowie, Phyllis Richardson and Jane VanEmmerik.
Nov. 10: A Holiday Open House will be held from 12-5 p.m. with participating stores serving refreshments along with specials and raffle drawings.
Nov. 17: The H. Lee White Marine Museum and Maritime Center, on Oswego's West First Street Pier, offers kids an opportunity to get in the spirit for the holidays by attending a Gingerbread Ornament Workshop at 2-3 p.m.
Nov. 30: Amex Small Business Saturday.
Dec. 5: Children's Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. The parade starts at 5 p.m. at iHeart Oswego, 29 W. Seneca St., and ends at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall Plaza.
Dec. 8: The H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center is hosting its annual "Christmas at Sea" Open House from 1-4:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8. The event includes homemade cookies, uniquely decorated holiday trees, model train displays throughout the building courtesy of the Oswego Valley Railroad Association and Museum and a vintage Waterfront Village is featured under the 12-foot high Christmas tree. At 2 p.m., Santa Claus arrives and he will not leave until he hears every child's wish.
Dec. 13: Shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of the annual city-wide Late Night Shopping event when stores will remain open until 10 p.m.
Dec. 12-14 and 16-18: Holiday Museum Shops will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Oswego State Downtown, located at the corner of West First and Bridge streets.
