At the Races

     Oswego Kartway officially opens for racing Friday night, April 26, with a non-point special to kick-off the 2013 racing season.

     Track officials have been hard at work in recent days preparing the clay racing surface that each of the competitors will take on this Friday evening.
     Drivers in as many as 10 different divisions of racing are expected to turn out on April 26 for their first look at the Kartway, known as the Bullring, in anticipation for the Championship season to get under way on Friday, May 3.
     Young racers aged 5-15 will be separated between the novice divisions as well as Jr. Clone Silver Plate, Jr. Clone Blue Plate, Sr. Clone Blue Plate, as well as Gold Plate.
     Those drivers ages 15 and older will compete in either Stock Light, Stock Heavy, Stock Animal, Open, Clone Light, or Clone Heavy.
     Pit gates will open for competitors beginning at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps scheduled to hit the Kartway at 6:30 p.m. The season's first green flag is scheduled to wave at 7:30 p.m.
     Entry fees for Kartway members will be set at $15 while non-member entry fees are $18. Pit passes will also be available for those not in competition for just $10.
     As always, spectators are welcome to come to the Kartway and enjoy the racing action. A full-service concession stand is open with limited bleacher seating. Fans are encouraged to bring their vehicle and park along the racing surface for a great view of the action. Admission for fans is only $5 per car load.
     The official Championship schedule for 2013 begins on Friday, May 3 with the running of the Mitchell's Speedway Press 'Kartway Kick-Off'. Pit gates will again open at 4:30pm with hot laps at 6:30pm and racing at 7:30pm. Entry fees will remain the same as on April 26.
     Kartway events run April through September on most Friday nights, culminating with the Fall Frenzy 150, Friday, Sept. 20.
