Despite wintry conditions expected in the middle portions of this week, the Kartway track crew and personnel are hard at work preparing the Kartway facility and racing surface for the Friday night lid lifter.

     Drivers in as many as 13 different divisions of racing are expected to turn out on April 18 for their first look at the Kartway, known as the Bullring, in anticipation for the Championship season to get underway on Friday, April 25 presented by Gater Racing News.

     Young racers aged 5-14 will be separated between the junior divisions at the Kartway including Jr. Green Clone, Jr. Blue Clone, Sr. Blue Clone, and Gold Plate.

     Those drivers ages 15 and up will compete in either Stock Light, Stock Heavy, Stock 425, Clone Light, Clone Heavy, Clone 425, BSP Clone, Open, and Champ Kart.

     Pit gates will open for competitors beginning at 4:30pm with hot laps scheduled to hit the Kartway at 6:30pm. The season's first green flag is scheduled to wave at 7:30pm.

     Entry fees for Kartway members will be set at $15 while non-member entry fees are $18. Pit passes will also be available for those not in competition for just $10.

     Friday night's racing program will see heat race lineups determined by a pill draw, with feature lineups starting straight up from heat race finishes.

     As always spectators are welcome to come to the Kartway and enjoy the racing action. A full service concession stand is open, with limited bleacher seating. Fans are encouraged to bring their vehicle and park along the racing surface for a great view of the action. Admission for fans is only $5 per car load.

     The official Championship schedule for 2014 begins on Friday, April 25 with the running of the Gater Racing News Kartway Kick-Off. Pit gates will again open at 4:30pm with hot laps at 6:30pm and racing at 7:30pm. Entry fees will remain the same as on April 18.

     Kartway events run April through September on most Friday nights, culminating with the Fall Frenzy 200 Championships on Saturday, September 20.
