Proceeds will be used toward Oswego Opera Theater’s fall production of Giuseppe Verdi’s famed opera, “La Traviata” in November. Other exciting events for the fall will be viewing last year’s production of “The Golden Cage” on WCNY television. Because of its historic significance, since it was written by two Holocaust refugees from the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter in Oswego in 1945 (the only such shelter in the United States during WW II)), “The Golden Cage” has received recognition well beyond Oswego and continues to do so. Ln addition, Oswego Opera Theater will co-sponsor “The 1812 Underture,” a comic operetta loosely based on an actual event in Oswego, which was created by local musicians Nicholas Gentile and Sarah Galvin. It is scheduled to be performed at Fort Ontario on September 22 and 23.
Registration for the Golf Tournament may be done by teams or individuals; individuals will be placed on teams.
