The Oswego Players President Emeritas Inez Manor Parker has been chosen as a recipient of the Sherman C. Ward, Jr., Distinguished Volunteer Award for 2018 by TANYS the Theater Association of New York State.

The Sherman C. Ward, Jr. Distinguished Volunteer Award is given to an individual over the age of 65 who has faithfully provided significant and valuable service to community theatre for more than 25 years. 

Inez Manor Paker was president of the Oswego Players for over Twenty years and in addition to ng in other administrative posts worked as an director, actor, dramaturge,and technical advisor for decades.

Words used to describe Inez in the recommendation letters from her friends and colleagues included, faithful, tireless, devoted supporter of the arts and always willing to step in to help out with any aspect of work. From Oswego Players VP of Production, Sonia Lough-Berlin : “She is the first person to volunteer and usually the last person to turn off the lights!”.

TANYS President Colleen Law-Tefft sent her congrtulations to Inez for a this well-deserved award and invited Parker to the Annual TANYS Festival opening ceremonies November 16th at Cayuga Community College in Auburn, NY where the award will be presented.
