While the countdown is on to the 63rd annual season lid lifter at Oswego Speedway, there is plenty of work going on at the Port City speed plant.

The 10th annual Oswego Pizza Villa Spring Spruce-Up Day at the Speedway is set for Saturday, April 20, and race fans are once again welcome to come leave their mark and help prepare the Speedway for opening day Saturday, May 4.

The annual Spruce-Up Day will begin at 8 a.m. with free lunch being served by Pizza Villa of Oswego at noon.

Any available pick-up trucks would be greatly appreciated as one of the major tasks on hand will be to set up the protective foam blocks around the Speedway. Among the other tasks will be re-painting heat race victory lane, touching up the start/finish line stripe on the main straightaway, as well as cleaning up the walkway leading to the Speedway's main entrance.

Those in attendance are also encouraged to bring push brooms.

Any and all fans and community members are welcome to help kick-off the beginning of the 2013 Oswego Speedway racing season and enjoy a great lunch provided by the folks at Pizza Villa of Oswego.

The 2013 racing season at Oswego Speedway begins May 4. Events run May through September most Saturday nights, culminating with the Fall Championship 75 Sept. 14.
