Burrows, of Oswego, received her master of arts degree in art in August. Her piece "Figuratively Fertile 4" was selected by a panel of SUNY professionals led by Jean Feinberg of the Fashion Institute of Technology and Beth Livensperger of Purchase College.

     In her Master of Arts Thesis Exhibition this spring, Burrows said she uses collaged body parts and multiple media to "focus on what's expected of women in regard to body image and fertility."

     The state exhibition is the second for student artwork at the SUNY center's Global Gallery, 116 E. 55th St. in New York City. Other students whose paintings were chosen for the latest exhibition hail from colleges at Alfred, Brockport, New Paltz, Potsdam, Purchase and the Fashion Institute of Technology.
     In a SUNY-wide news release, Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher expressed pride in works that the system's students have displayed in recent years in a variety of state venues.
     "SUNY is home to many talented student artists, who produce beautiful abstracts like these as well as breathtaking works of art in every medium," Zimpher said. "We are proud to display our students' masterpieces on campuses across the state, at System Administration in Albany, in the Governor's Office in Washington, D.C., and at the Global Center in the heart of New York City."
