Paws Across Oswego County logo Paws Across Oswego County (PAOC), a non-profit animal rescue organization based in Oswego, recently announced the newest addition to its community outreach services, 4 Paws Thrift Store, slated to open April 28.

PAOC fosters and adopts animals along with providing support to local shelters and to the community with various programs. This newest addition, 4 Paws Thrift Store, will be comprised of secondhand items and run by a group of volunteers. All of the proceeds from the store's sales will benefit a new fund, which is designed to provide low cost vet care (vaccinations and spay / neuter services), to members of the community in need.
"While PAOC has always provided assistance when possible, we have been limited by available funds," Kimberly Manoni, a spokesperson for the organization, said. "This program will expand our outreach and encourage a more responsible and healthier pet community."
The thrift store, to be located at 2035 County Route 1, will be introduced to the public at PAOC's Eighth Annual Open House and Rescue Fundraiser, to be held at 12 p.m., April 28. The Open House, which will feature a silent auction and more, will be held in the gym at Paws & Effect, at the address above.
According to Manoni, PAOC will be accepting donations from the community for the store as after April 1 and the public is encouraged to call 343-0001 to make arrangements for the drop-off of the donated items.
"We will be selling all types of items," Manoni noted. "We will accept all donations and once the thrift store is established with sales, we can re-evaluate what items we accept, if needed."
